Kentford Village
Kentford is a small picturesque village enjoying a delightful location just off the A14, 5 miles from the unique and historic market town of Newmarket. Kentford and the adjoining village of Kennett benefit from a good range of local amenities including two public houses, a church, a village store/Post Office, petrol station, village hall, recreation field, primary school and railway station with a frequent train service to Newmarket, Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich, Peterborough and beyond. In addition there is excellent road access via the A14 and A11 (M11).
The River Kennett, which has changed its route many times over the centuries, flows north through the village and forms, in part, the boundary between the parishes of Kentford and Kennett and the counties of Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.

Nearby Newmarket is a unique market town with a fascinating history. The town stands on the prehistoric Icknield Way, once used by travellers to cross Newmarket Heath. Renowned for it’s horseracing and breeding, Newmarket is located within a few miles of Britain’s largest racehorse training centre and ‘Headquarters of British Racing’, and two racecourses staging some of the best racing in the world. Tattersalls which is famous for its bloodstock sales is located within the town as well as the Jockey Club and the majority of the bloodstock agents. Just 15 miles to the west, the city of Cambridge offers a wonderful mix of culture and history. The city that once inspired Darwin, Newton and Wordsworth, today inspires thousands of university students and leads the way in new and emerging technology. Some of the best shopping in the region can be found in the city, from department stores to boutiques, with a daily market in the city’s central square. The city’s vibrant nightlife includes theatre, live music, movies and a comprehensive range of traditional pubs, bars, clubs and restaurants. The historic Suffolk market town of Bury St Edmunds is just 16 miles east of Newmarket, offering a unique combination of great shopping, historic buildings and a range of restaurants, bars and entertainment venues.
